Do you feel safe and secure in your life? or Do you think you are in the safest hand of Advanced Technology?

We are utilizing the advanced technology of Science which aids us to save our time and energy in our busy lifestyle. For instance recently the WhatsApp new features like “Delete for everyone and Share Live location”, solve those issues which happened due to our faults or unawareness.

However, post the invention of the new advanced technologies how much safe and secured you feel at the end of the day when the question arises about your life and death?

mobile-phone-2398300_1920

Can any of these highest inventions in our daily life makes us protect from Disaster? My questions may sound bit unusual but let me define you for your clarity that you are not at all in the safe hand of the Internet.

For instance if your life get stuck in any Disaster or Peril which is completely an uncertainty, and you are craving for rescue and your costly Smartphone is not at all helping you out from that worst situation because of the inconvenience of Internet (Data or Wifi) then exactly at that crucial phase how could you Save your precious life?

Because Smartphone without internet connection is of no use for running its vital Apps, so your Data or Wifi connection plays a vital key role in running your all Apps fastly.

The recent invention by Scientists

Researchers have recently originated a Smartphone app that can be used in the emergency situation arising due to any peril or disaster like during earthquakes, floods or forest fires, where mobile phone infrastructure is often performed useless.

This new technology has made it easy and possible to rescue those victims by locating them who have suffered an accident in remote locations without a phone signal and where a speedy rescue is essential to save lives.

How it will work without a signal?

The inventor of the technology and professor at UA, Jose Angel Berna, narrated that they have designed an application (app) that can be incorporated to any smartphone and that, without a signal, emits a Wifi signal which in turn acts as a distress beacon over a distance of several kilometers.

This signal contains the location (coordinates) of the person who has suffered the accident or disappeared and is using the smartphone emitter, along with a short message that can be altered depending on the situation, with examples such as “I am injured,” “I am disorientated”, “I need help”, “I’m dying” or “Save me”.

In order to detect the distress signal, the researchers have also created a light, portable receptor device that rescue teams or mountain shelters could use.
This device has a small antenna and connects to the smartphone of the search party.
When an accident occurs, the victim only has to activate the mobile phone app, which will, in turn, emit the distress signal periodically, for hours or even days, even if he or she is unconscious, indicating the coordinates of its location.

How does it confirm?

According to Berná, “there have already been tests done on the ground with this innovative system, an operative prototype was developed in early 2016, with the Special Mountain Intervention Rescue Groups (GREIM) of the Guardia Civil and then with the Maritime Service of the Armed Forces and Maritime Rescue, the results of which were interesting.”

So, while the tests performed both on ground and sea it was confirmed finally that the device can pick up the distress signal of the emitting smartphone up to a distance of two or three kilometers, respectively, although it may be possible to increase its reach.

The present status of the World

At present, there is no system in the world that uses Wi-fi signals to geo-locate a smartphone. There are devices that allow you to detect mobile phone signals from a smartphone and pinpoint its location through triangulation, but it costs around €80,000 and requires the use of a helicopter,

However, the new system is more economical, ‘as its receptor has a cost that would allow its commercialization for approximately €600 if used by a large number of rescue teams’.

Advantages

  • This new invention will definitely save the time of the rescue operation team for locating the injured person at the particular point of the accident or disaster happens and where the person will seeking for his rescue means it ‘optimise the search and decrease tracking time’

Studies found that in the case of many deceased people autopsies have revealed that the person didn’t die instantly, as they survived for several hours but it’s really unfortunate that it had been impossible to locate them on time.

  • It does not require visual contact with the victim because as soon as they can detect a single signal, it will tell them its exact location, even if it lies several kilometers away or it is trapped among the rubble of a collapsed building.

Conclusion

Berná explains, “We have sent information to the Ministry of Internal Affairs so they take this new feature that we have developed into account and they study its possible addition to AlertCops, the citizen safety warning service of the State Security Forces”.

According to the researcher, the rescue services believe that the features of this technology should already be integrated within an emergency system and should have institutional backing.

So we can now expect the best helping app, for our life safety very soon.

How to increase battery life of android phones?

Smartphones now become a significant tool of our life without which we cant imagine a day but many of us face with the battery problem. So, people often ask “How can I extend my battery life?” Most of the smartphones like Android consume much battery as compared to others.

how to increase battery life of android phones

As a result, in conventional condition Android battery dies in about 6-7 hours. Many of us use battery booster app for Android but it doesn’t seem beneficial. So the solution to improve Android battery performance is through manipulations on the software side.

The best tricks to save your battery life long:

Avoid High Temperatures

Heat waves play a huge role in damaging the smartphone battery. Leaving your smartphone exposed to extreme temperature can be damaging to both the device and the battery. So, make sure to avoid high temperatures and if possible remove the back cover of your smartphone while charging.

Avoid Quick Recharges

People always choose to charge their smartphone for 15 minutes just to ensure the device holds enough power to run another 1 hour. Give the full charge for your battery. This will prevent quicker recharges being needed in the day and will also improve the battery life.

Wi-Fi drains far less battery than cellular service

If you want to conserve power, then you should always turn off Location (GPS), Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi and mobile data when you aren’t actively using them.

When you are traveling on long journeys, your mobile will keep changing the base station from which it receives signal, resulting in faster battery drain. If you’re in an area where cell service is patchy, your phone can expend a lot of battery power trying to get the best connection it can. So use it in airplane mode if you are not expecting any calls and want to listen to music for long hours.

Turning on Airplane Mode or turning off your mobile data in favor of an available Wi-Fi network can make all the difference in the world. Only turn on Bluetooth and NFC as long as you need them even though they consume very little power.

If you have the choice between using Wi-Fi or cell signal, always choose Wi-Fi, all other things equal. Wi-Fi drains far less battery than cellular service.

Turn Off vibrations and haptic feedback

Every phone has got a little motor called ‘An eccentric rotating mass vibration motor (ERM) that has an unbalanced load attached to it. The rotation of this load produces vibration. Head over to Settings>>Sound. Turn off haptic feedback too that buzz you get from typing on the keyboard. Switch off vibrate, it actually takes more power to vibrate your phone than it does to ring it.

App killers suck battery rather than conserve it

Never use app killers for managing those unused apps and most of the apps that you kill this way will just spring right back to life. But there’s a new feature that’s been available since Android 4.0, the Recent Apps menu. Although this feature’s primary intent is to make swapping between apps faster, it is also possible to “swipe away” apps. Some myths have cropped up that it’s good practice to pull up the Recent Apps menu and swipe away any apps you aren’t using, effectively killing them.

This just isn’t true. For one, swiping away recent apps doesn’t kill them. It is a good way to get an app to stop misbehaving for example, if a Facebook photo gets stuck uploading, then swiping away the app will tell Facebook to cancel this action, but the apps you see on this list are not actively running in the background. The Recent Apps menu is nothing like the Task Manager on your PC, it’s just a visual catalog to help you navigate your apps easier.

Clear recent apps and use fewer widgets

Exit an app as soon as you are done with it or else it will continue running in the background. Pressing just the back button might not terminate the app. Keep clearing your ‘recents’ panel frequently.

Delete the widgets that are placed to offer information not required throughout the day and still fetch data from the internet such as weather apps, stock apps, scoreboards etc. If you already have a bunch of useless widgets on your device then you just need to do a couple of things and they’ll be gone. Long press on a blank space on your home screen. Now drag the widget you don’t need into the trash bin at the top or bottom of your screen though it depends on the brand.

Set your IFTTT to make your life easier

If the norms of our regular schedule are being managed by some else then it makes our life easier. Only IFTTT can do this. IFTTT is a beautiful service that’s great for non-programmers and first-time automators. The goal of IFTTT is to put the internet to work for you. The letters stand for “IF THIS, THEN THAT”. Once you subscribe to their service on the website and download the Android app “IF,” you can get your phone to do a variety of things without your active intervention.

For instance, you might activate your phone’s “Location” channel. This will let IFTTT respond to your smartphone’s location. Then you might tell IFTTT, “Okay, if I leave home, turn my Wi-Fi off.” And then, likewise, “If I arrive home, turn my Wi-Fi on or to turn on Airplane mode or even do not disturb mode.”It turns your phone into a fully automated, power-managing machine. Once you play around with it for a little bit, you’ll start to find all sorts of things to automate, even beyond the scope of your phone’s battery life.

Don’t Do Heavy Gaming

Heavy games require a lot of resources. So, the best tip is to avoid heavy gaming for long. Running high-end games for longer duration can drain the battery really fast and will also cause your phone to overheat.

Therefore, if you like to play games on your Android device, make sure not to use them for long.

Turn off notifications for apps

You don’t have to let your apps sync all of their data automatically. Choosing to do this manually, or to limit auto sync to the apps that really need it, can seriously reduce power use. Go to Settings>>Notification and there you can view app specific settings for notification. Turn off notification for an app by clicking on it and select ‘Block All.’ This will stop the processor from checking on it from time to time, thereby making your phone battery last longer.

Turn off animations and reduce Background Process

Animations are another factor affecting battery life. Time to get into some behind-the-scenes work here. To make these changes, you’ll need to access the Developer Options menu in your settings. Head over to the Settings app on your Android phone. If you don’t find Developer Settings, then go to Settings>>About phone and tap on ‘Build number’ a few times.

Go back to Settings, and you will find ‘Developer Settings.’ Tap on it and there you will find three options namely ‘Window animation scale,’ ‘Transition animation scale,’ and ‘Animator duration scale.’ Each of these is likely currently set to Animation scale x1. Setting each of these to “Animation off” and you will see a considerable change in performance and improved battery life.

On this same menus, you can scroll further down to find Background Process Limit. By default, this is “Standard limit,” but adjusting it to 3 or 4 processes can slightly increase your battery life and may improve performance as well.

Use lite apps and ad-free apps

Only keep the apps on your phone which you require frequently. Keeping too many apps can slow down your phone and reduce battery life. You can view how much battery an app is using, going to Settings>>Battery. Uninstall the apps which use more battery. Instead, try to use the lite version of that app or use an alternative app. Facebook and Messenger both have Lite apps also Skype available in the Play Store.

In Battery menu, tap in the top-right corner of the window and select Battery Optimization. A “Not Optimized” app will run in the background on its own schedule. Apps that are not required to run at all times should be optimized for better battery life.

Also use apps that don’t use ads, or purchasing premium versions of apps that eschew ads, can drastically change how badly your battery takes a beating. If you use an app frequently, and it’s sucking up your phone’s life juice every day, consider upgrading or finding an ad-free alternative.

Discard auto synchronization

Some apps such as Gmail, Twitter, Reddit constantly refresh themselves to offer the latest information rather than running multiple auto-refreshes throughout the day when you may not need them to.
Turn off auto-syncing for Google accounts. If you don’t need every single Google account updated every 15 minutes, just go to Settings and Google account and turn off auto-sync for those apps you don’t need constantly updated. To turn it off, go to Settings > Accounts. Tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner and uncheck “Auto-sync data.” You can also manually adjust which apps sync and how frequently.

Android updates are necessary

Don’t ignore app updates because it can help you to avoid bugs and other issues that are related to your smartphone and battery. Keep your apps updated. There’s a reason developer constantly update apps to improve battery and memory optimization. Likewise, delete old apps you no longer use, because these may be running background processes that consume RAM and battery life.

Just go into your Settings and tap Battery. From there hit the menu button three dots at the top right of your screen and go to Battery optimization. From there you can see which apps are optimized and change them. You can only change the non-essential system apps.

Black wallpaper can increase battery

What is a power-friendly wallpaper? That actually depends on what kind of display you have!

There are essentially two kinds of displays currently on the smartphone market. AMOLED works by lighting up individual pixels to create images. LCD works by having a backlight that is overlaid by a screen that shutters and displays the backlight to create pixels which compose images.

If your phone has an AMOLED screen like most Samsung devices, use a dark-colored background. Black wallpaper can increase battery life this is because pixels that make the AMOLED displays only utilize battery power to illuminate light colors and don’t need any energy to show black color. Simply put, the more dark or black pixels you have on your AMOLED display, the less power it consumes to illuminate them, thus saving the battery.

However, if you have an LCD display, the most power-efficient option is a white wallpaper because the screen doesn’t have to work to create the pixels. So, the benefit of having a white background on an LCD display is not as significant as the benefit of having a black background on an AMOLED display. If you’re not sure which you have, it won’t hurt much to err on the side of black.

Dim your display optimizations

Full brightness might be necessary to see those texts under the full light of day, but why are you still running that setup after sunset? Apart from improving battery performance, it reduces the strain on your eyes too. Again, the screen is the biggest enemy of your battery, keeping it off as much as possible is the crux.

Go to Settings>>Display. There you can disable Adaptive Brightness as it continuously drains the battery by monitoring the ambient light. But if you are not used to changing your display brightness every time you step indoors, keeping adaptive brightness or auto brightness depending on which version of Android you are running would, in fact, help you increase battery life.

Set your “Sleep” length to be as short as is feasible. Set the Sleep option to one minute or 15 seconds is a good amount. This reduces the time the screen remains ON after you’ve stopped using it. Use a dark wallpaper, and a dark theme or night mode if possible. Many apps also have night mode option in them.

Never use live wallpapers though it looks great on display units, in everyday life, these gorgeous backgrounds take processing power to animate. So don’t fall for such eye-catching displays instead stick with something more power-friendly.

Doze Mode (Android Marshmallow)

Doze mode is the latest addition to Android OS and works on the device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. You don’t need to do anything to use the new doze feature and basically, there are no switches or settings to activate or deactivate it.

Doze mode essentially just shuts down things you’re not using depending on how long it has been since you’ve touched your phone. Network connection is severed and syncing only happens during specific intervals. When you’re away from your phone even longer, more things are stopped, like GPS, Wi-Fi scanning and all syncing. Thus, Doze mode works in the background of Marshmallow devices and puts your phone in hibernation mode when it lies unused for a longer duration.

Turn off Google hotword detection

Stop your phone from always listening. Google Assistant is an awesome service, but its voice recognition feature can continuously keep listening for the ‘OK Google’ keyword detection and hence drains your battery at an alarming rate. Especially if you don’t actually use it or only use it occasionally. So turning off Google’s hotword detection will prevent your phone from being always ready to listening for a command to perform a search function. Here is how you can turn it off.

Go to Apps > Settings > Google Services > Search & Now > Voice > Click on ‘OK Google Detection’ > Turn Off ‘Always On’.

Use Battery Saver

Go to Settings > Battery and then tap the three-dot menu in the top right of the screen. Choose “Battery Saver”.

Battery saver reduces your device’s performance and automatically limits vibration, location services, and background data. You can activate it from here, or you can set it to kick on automatically at 5 or 15 percent battery.

Customize which apps can use location

Most of the apps that are installed on your smartphone constantly track your location. But keeping it on throughout the day while you don’t need location tracking will simply kill your smartphone battery.

Turn it off while you are just using your handset for watching videos, sending emails and apps where you don’t need location tracking.

Use Greenify

Unlike many Android apps that claim to optimize performance and increase battery life, Greenify actually works. Greenify saves your battery life by pushing apps into a sort of ‘hibernation’ mode. Not only it stops an app from running in the background, but it also prevents it from starting until you open it again. Just select the apps you want to hibernate and notice an increase in your battery life and performance.

This can be helpful in many situations. For example, you might use the Amazon app to browse for things to buy, but don’t want it to operate in the background or send notifications. There might be other apps on your Android device operating in the background without a good reason. Greenify stops this by sending those apps into hibernation, which reduces their impact on the system, saving battery life while improving performance.

Get a better battery

Modular batteries used to be the norm for Android devices, but now they’re the smartphone equivalent of the Black Rhino or the Hawksbill Turtle. If you’ve managed to get your hands on one of these endangered species, then you may have the option to upgrade your battery to a higher capacity model.

Conclusion

However to keep your battery life long is completely in your hand at least by dim your screen and turn off services you aren’t using can also give you a better performance of your battery life.

Maximizing your battery life is a simple matter of minimizing your power usage. As you can see, your Android smartphone has a lot of components that touch on power use. Optimizing these can range from simply changing the way that you use your device on a daily basis to fully automating connectivity toggles.

Use these tricks & tips to make your Android battery last longer and to avoid carrying a power bank all the time. I hope these ways to increase Android battery life have been useful to you.

How to verify genuineness or originality of mobile phone?

Have you heard about the term IMEI or seen it listed on your phone’s original packaging. At first glance, it’s not really clear what exactly you are meant to do with it, or what the IMEI even is. So, what exactly is an IMEI number and how do you find yours?

verify genuiness or originality of mobile phone

How precious your mobile is for you?

My cell phone is very precious for me because it consists of almost all confidential data which is stored in my cell. So it’s a significant device which sole carries my entire details in its storage.

Do you use a simple old-fashioned mobile phone of without camera and internet facility or having a smartphone like Android or iPhone with latest uploaded apps along features?

We worth our usable items as per their price. So in that aspect, if we see around us then we get that almost 8 out of 10 peoples are using Smartphone because of its latest advanced features which help us to connect with the World 24×365. Your smartphone keeps all your significant data includes, the contact number, email address of your friends, videos, conversations, and images of yours.

Now just think for a moment that you lost your cell phone or it gets stolen. Within a second you shatter by visualizing that thought. Because now you are going to suffer more from its misuse apart from losing the data in your device.

In this situation, only IMEI can be your true friend which will help you from the misuse of your device by wrong hand. If you know the IMEI number of your device then you can easily take the help of mobile tracker services. By contact your network service provider and raise a request for blacklisting, to ensure that the person who stole your device is not being able to operate it.

What is IMEI?

The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a unique numerical identifier for every mobile device typically found behind the battery. This number helps to differentiate each device from one another. For instance, if you take your device at service center they will track your device by using the IMEI to differentiate it from millions of same models of the similar company. A standard IMEI number is a 14 digit string, with an additional 15th check digit for verifying the entire string. There is also a 16 digit variation that includes information on the device’s software version, known as the IMEISV. The digits comprising the IMEI number represent the origin, model, and the serial number of the mobile device.

How to verify genuineness or originality of mobile phone?

IMEI number comprises of 15 digits out of which the initial 8 digits also known as TAC give a hint about the origin and model of the device. The manufacturer can be identified with the next 6 digits.
For example, the Google Pixel TAC code is 35-161508, while the iPhone 6s Plus is 35-332907. Some models have multiple TACs depending on revision, manufacturing location, and other factors, the iPhone 5C has a total of five different TAC codes. The six C digits represent your device’s unique serial number, and these are defined by the handset manufacturer.

The last digit is the check digit. The D portion of the IMEI is a check digit that ensures the IMEI meets the allocation and approval guidelines. The check digit is the function of the digits prior to it.

The number consists of four groups currently, the IMEI’s format is AA-BBBBBB-CCCCCC-D.

The first set of numbers is the type approval code (TAC). The first two digits represent the country code. The rest make up the final assembly code. The second group of numbers identifies the manufacturer:

01 and 02 = AEG

07 and 40 = Motorola

10 and 20 = Nokia

41and 44 = Siemens

51= Sony, Siemens, Ericsson

The third set is the serial number and a last single digit is an additional number (usually 0) Check Digit of the entire model or 0 (This is an algorithm that validates the ID number).

How to find your IMEI?

There are a couple of ways to finding out your device’s IMEI number. One easy way by dialing *#06# from the same device and the IMEI will be displayed on the screen. If you have an Android or iOS device then the IMEI can be found in Settings too. On iOS head to Settings > General, > About and the IMEI will be displayed. Copying the IMEI is as simple as tapping and holding on the number. Android devices may vary, but generally heading to Settings > About Phone > Status should display the IMEI.

If you can’t access your device, there are other ways to find your IMEI too. You can locate the IMEI number of your cell phone either on the box, or printed inside the battery compartment. The retail packaging should have a label with the IMEI displayed. If your device has a removable battery, then the IMEI is often listed underneath the battery. Many devices have the IMEI printed on the back. Others, including the iPhone 6s and above, have the IMEI inscribed on the SIM tray. A Sony Ericsson mobile phone user can retrieve the IMEI by pressing the following key sequence: right,*, left, left,*, left, *, left.

How IMEI is useful for you?

As smartphones have become more readily available and more valuable they have become a target of thieves around the world or in case of lost your costly device. Under these conditions, the owner can use the IMEI number for preventing further use of the device. The owner needs to call the network service provider and inform them about the stolen or lost. The service provider can block the phone on their network and can also notify the other network providers.

The SIM number identifies your subscriber account, while the IMEI only identifies the device. Law enforcement often keeps records of lost and recovered phones too, identified by their IMEI. Since there is no good reason to change the device’s IMEI, the practice is illegal in many regions.

While it may be illegal to change the IMEI of a device, it does happen. Thieves, in particular, will attempt to take non-blacklisted numbers and apply them to their stolen devices in order to make them usable again. For this reason, its suggested that you should never share or post your IMEI number online, or else you may find your device cloned.

Advantages of IMEI number

  • Restricting the instances of mobile theft

IMEI number is now a universally accepted measure. To restrict the usage of a stolen device and hence control the instances of theft, IMEI numbers have played a significant active role.
In countries like the UK, the operator can quickly transmit the message with IMEI number to the Central Equipment Identity Register, which subsequently floats it to all other network providers. Devices are blacklisted within 48 hours on all the networks.

  • Tracking the device

The owners can register with the Mobile Tracker service providers using their mobile numbers. Whenever the device is used with a different Sim Card, a notification is sent to the registered mobile number of the owner.

Best Way to Know Your Phone Better

Look at the 7th and 8th digit of your IMEI. These two digits will ensure your phone’s quality.

  • If 7th and 8th digits are 01 or 10, this indicates your cell phone is manufactured in Finland which is high quality.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 13, this indicates your cell phone is assembled in Azerbaijan which is too bad and also dangerous for health.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 02 or 20, this indicates your cell phone is assembled in Emirates which is very poor quality.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 03/30 or 04/40, this indicates your cell phone is made in China but its quality is good but not good as 00,01 or 10.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 05 or 50 this indicates your cell phone is manufactured either in Brazil or Finland or USA.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 06 or 60 this indicates your cell phone is manufactured either in Hong Kong or China or Mexico.
  • If 7th and 8th digits are 08 or 80 this indicates your cell phone is manufactured in Germany which is fair quality.

Caution

The IMEI is a useful tool to stop a stolen phone from accessing a network being used. IMEI number is strictly related to the mobile device and has no relation to the user.
Mobile phone owners whose phones have been stolen can contact their mobile network provider and ask them to ban or shut off a phone using its IMEI number.

With an IMEI number, the phone can be banned from the network quickly and easily but swapping a SIM card will not stop a phone from being banned. So keep a record of your IMEI today now itself and never share it with anyone by mistake also.

How to read deleted WhatsApp messages which someone sent you?

The recently launched WhatsApp’s Delete for Everyone feature has given enough relieve to all of us from the discomforts of wrongly sent messages to someone. This new feature became popular instantly. Even most peoples observed a new kind of notification that the sent message was deleted where the feature aid users to delete a WhatsApp text within seven minutes of sending it.

read deleted WhatsApp messages

Is the deleted message really disappear from the phone?

But, Where there is an entryway there must be an exit way. Yes, as per the new report there’s still a way to see those deleted text messages from Whatsapp means there are way out in the feature where even after the sender deletes a text, it still can be read by the recipient as per a Spanish website Android Jefe. The Spanish tech blog has cracked couple of ways to retrieve the deleted texts which quite easy and simple. You can do it either with the phone settings or a dedicated app can be downloaded from PlayStore.

How to read deleted WhatsApp messages which someone sent you?

This new way out will let any WhatsApp user see the deleted texts through the notification log that still exists on the receiver’s smartphone it means if the message sent by another user has created a notification in the receiver’s handset then the message can be retrieved from the notification log of Android phone.

But if the receiver was already active or online either in the chat with the sender or on WhatsApp then, in that case, there will no notification, hence the message cannot be recovered. So following are the two methods to recover the deleted message

Method 1

  1. Go to Google PlayStore.
  2. Download Notification History application.
  3. After installing, open the app and tap the WhatsApp icon in it.
  4. You can access all the Whatsapp texts there.

Method 2

  1. Long press on the home screen of the Android phone.
  2. Select the Widgets option.
  3. Scroll down to Settings widget in the list.
  4. Drag the Settings widget on the home screen.
  5. Multiple options will pop up and select notification history option.
  6. Once the log is open, all the texts of WhatsApp can be seen, along with other details.

Limitations of this application

There are certain limitations to the loophole but any person aware of the loophole can exploit it to see the texts, so you must cautious about your privacy.

  • Out of the entire message, only first 100 characters of the message will be visible.
  • Notification log saves message only for a certain few hours. So after a long time, messages might not be retrievable.
  • Only text messages can be recovered any images, GIFs or even documents, audio or video messages, if deleted by the sender will display the usual message “This message was deleted” and will be permanently deleted.
  •  Somehow if the user runs any cleaner on the phone then the messages will be unrecoverable even from the notification log, because then they will be permanently deleted.

Cautions

iPhone and iOS users are safe from this loophole as there is no application that registers notifications. The trick worked on an Android device as for mobile phones with ‘pure’ Android, the settings widget is already added to the home screen and you will get the notification registry from there. Allegedly, these methods work only with Android 6 (Marshmallow) or higher.

How to protect your nude photos in Facebook?

Facebook asking for nude photos to protect users

Revenge porn is one of the latest online problems

Would you deliberately send your nude photos to Facebook? As the company is insisting it needs them for your own protection!

protect your nude photos in Facebook

Hope the news is enough to freak out you and it sounds very unusual but its fact now. Let me explain you with example say you have a spiteful ex who decides to embarrass you by posting a nude photo made in private because often we have seen that within the relationship, couples after break up with the intent of taking revenge decides to humiliate her in society by posting the nude images of his partner. So to stop this revengeful attempt Facebook took the initiative by taking the bold step which sounds strange. Its a viral in the society which seemed difficult to come up with a solution but Facebook first time brings out an amazing brilliant solution which sounds like utter madness but its actually a worthful remedy for ending up this crime for forever.

With its billions of users, Facebook is one place where many offenders aggress because they can maximize the harm by broadcasting the nonconsensual porn to those closest to the victim. In the US 4 percent of internet users have fallen victim to it, and 10 percent of women under 30 have had someone threaten to post explicit photos of them online against their will, according to a study by Data & Society. Revenge porn is a growing issue in Australia where studies suggest that one in five women aged 18-45 may have been victims.

Send nudes and Facebook will protect you against revenge porn

Facebook says if you send the photo to the company first, it will make sure it never shows up on its site as it is part of a way to prevent someone from posting the photos online as a form of revenge porn. “It would be like sending yourself your image in email, but obviously this is a much safer, secure end-to-end way of sending the image without sending it through the ether,”

The social network has developed an anti-revenge porn system that uses artificial intelligence to recognize and block specific images and is primarily testing it in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia but spreading to other parts of the world soon.

Who will control the system or procedure?

The system has been piloted in Australia with the help of the eSafety Commissioner to allow people to be proactive in combating revenge porn. Rather than waiting for intimate images of themselves to appear online, users can take pre-emptive steps to block the appearance of specific images. It is described as an “emergency option,” and it’s something that is likely to be used by celebrities, or by people who find themselves in a position where they fear revenge porn is likely.

“The safety and well-being of the Facebook community is our top priority and we’re using image matching technology to prevent non-consensual intimate images from being shared on Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Groups and Messenger,” said Antigone Davis, Facebook’s head of global safety.

How it works?

Facebook says once user sends the image via Messenger, it will use technology to create a digital fingerprint or link of the picture which the company can then use to identify the same images if they are uploaded by someone else mean that same naked picture will never show up on Facebook, even if a hacker or an ex-tries to upload it.

  • Users wanting to take part in the scheme must first complete an online form on the Australian e-safety commissioner’s website.
  • Then they need to message themselves their nude photos via Messenger and the safety commissioner’s office will notify Facebook of their submission.
  • Once Facebook receives this notification, a specially trained representative from their Community Operations team reviews and hashes the image, which creates a human-unreadable, numerical fingerprint of it.
  • They store the photo hash – not the photo – to prevent someone from uploading the photo in the future. If someone tries to upload the image to their platform, like all photos on Facebook, it is run through a database of these hashes and if it matches they do not allow it to be posted or shared.
  • Once they hash the photo, they will then notify the person via the secure email provided via the commissioner’s website and ask the person to delete the photo from the Messenger thread on their device. Once the person deletes the image from the thread, they will delete the image from their servers.

But can you trust Facebook?

The company says “They’re not storing the image, they’re storing the link and using artificial intelligence and other photo-matching technologies. So if somebody tried to upload that same image, which would have the same digital footprint or hash value, it will be prevented from being uploaded.” According to digital forensics expert Lesley Carhart, who said it’s not that simple to completely delete a digital photograph.Yes, they’re not storing a copy, but the image is still being transmitted and processed.

Facebook will use work differently and can be used to fingerprint photos and videos in a way that’s resilient to such changes.

Who is ready to share their nudes with the Facebook employee?

Facebook says that in actual fact an employee — an actual human being — will have to review the nude images that are sent in. Mean those intimate photos that are uploaded in an attempt to gain protection against revenge porn will have to be manually checked by human eyes to determine whether they do in fact fall into the category of revenge porn. The employee would be part of Facebook’s community operations team and would be “specially trained” to view such uncensored images.

So I would like to request all users that if they feel comfortable while sharing that privacy with their partners through the medium of Facebook then they should rely on the service of the Facebook for the protection of their confidentiality in the social media.

WhatsApp Live Location – How to share location with your contacts?

 Johny Johny!

Yes, Papa

Coming Late?

No, papa

When do you’ll come back?

Within 10 minutes Papa

Telling lies?

No, Papa

Open Your Whatsapp Live Location!

OMG! Smart Papa

Ha! Ha!! Ha!!!

Where are you, darling, waiting for you since an hour?……… Ops! Here I’m just on the way, will arrive within 15 minutes…..

Son where are you, it’s almost 10 pm and we are waiting for you at dinner?……… OMG! Dad, I’m just on my way, will arrive soon within 10 minutes….

We are accustomed of such replies from our closed ones like spouse and children also from friends and peers when they are travelling alone and we are anxiously waiting for their come back at home or at any particular place of meeting and when they very smartly skip their exact returning time from their present location because of fear and embarrassment from their closed ones.

Now no more lies we will be taken for granted because of our most friendly app of our daily life, Whatsapp now brings us a new amazing feature through which you can share your live location with someone on Whatsapp. Now, this feature has been there on Google Maps for quite some time, but will certainly grasp more usage now what it is on Whatsapp.

The Live Location sharing feature can be really handy and useful when you traveling alone or in an emergency situation then share your location with your closed ones. For instance when your boss is waiting for your presence for the projection of your project in the board meeting room with other employees of the company and exactly on that day you got stuck in the heavy traffic jam then without getting the fear of the humiliation in public at the conference room, you can easily share your specific location with your boss by sharing your Live Location In Whatsapp. So in this way, your boss will also cooperate with you without misunderstanding your cause as fake or real by connecting with you at Direct Whatsapp Live Location feature.

Earlier too, apps and internet companies have incorporated social location-sharing as a feature. On Uber, one can share trip status with a contact, which lets them track the cab’s movement in real time. This June, Snapchat launched a location-sharing feature called Snap Map.
With this new feature that’s designed for short-term use, you’ll be able to share your location with a group or in a private chat, letting people know where you are while you’re on the go. As many peoples have the habit of throwing fake location, so in this way now you can trace the exact location of that person, without asking him about his location by watching him directly in Whatsapp.

How to share location with your contacts?

Now I will explain you the procedure of sharing your location with your contacts or in a group.

Step 1-Open a chat of an individual or a group. Tap on Attach (a file symbol). In that, you will find the “Location”. Then click on “Share Location”. (Tap Attach  > Location > Share live location ). The screen looks like below.

WhatsApp Live Location

Step 2-In next step, it will show your exact phone location using Google Map. Then click on the option “Send your current Location”. That’s it.

WhatsApp Live Location - Send current locationBy default, you can share your location for 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours. Choose one of the options, add any comments (if you want to) and click Send.

However, if you want to share your location for a specific time, you can simply click Stop Sharing when it’s no longer required. For example, If you want to share your location for one hour, you can choose ‘1 hours’ from the default options.

How its different from the current feature?

With the new “live location” a user can choose to let a contact or a group trace their location or movement on a map in real time for a defined window of time. This is different from the current “share location” feature which shares a static location. However, like the static location, live location too will only be visible to the contacts or groups one chooses to share it with. As WhatsApp already allows you to share your location, but that’s only your present location, as a one-time share. That’s helpful for telling someone where to come, for example, but less useful if you want someone to be able to see how far away you’ve reached.

As of February 2017, WhatsApp had 200 million monthly active users in India, making the country its largest market. WhatsApp product manager Zafir Khan told that they try to solve the rendezvous problem in such scenarios where the live location is useful, Your location is shared at the chat level, which means you can share your live location in a one-on-one WhatsApp conversation or a group chat.

The adverse effect of this new feature

This new feature works wonder when you are traveling alone or in an emergency situation and wants to connect live with your closed ones. However, WhatsApp is peeping into your location continuously which has given birth to certain concerns like..first, it is certainly not safe as your live location is highlighting on the internet. Second, if WhatsApp ever compromises the data, just like what OnePlus did recently, things might get into trouble. So better play with it safely. Users can still choose to share a one-time, static location if they prefer.

Notable aspect of this new feature

  • With live location sharing, the location is dynamic and updates in real time, even after you leave the WhatsApp app. You can share your location to another person, to let a family member know where you are on your commute home, or to a group chat so your closed ones can see how far away you are from them.
  • This feature is fully opt-in and is temporary in nature. You can manually stop sharing live location data within a chat at any given time. A new option in your Account Privacy settings will give you an overview of all WhatsApp chats you are sharing your live location in at the time.
  • To check if you have this feature, open any chat either a group chat or a private chat and tap the attach button. There will be an option to select the duration when sharing your location. In case you don’t have this option, the feature isn’t available for you yet.
  • You can view the location of users sharing their live location with you in a map view, and you’ll see the names of the users along with a timestamp to show the freshness of that data.
  • You can switch to a Satellite/ Terrain view of the map if you desire, and even see live traffic data as an overlay, which sounds pretty convenient if you are waiting for someone.
  • In a WhatsApp group, you can bring up the group info and see all users that are sharing their location with the group at that point in time which sounds very useful if you’re trying to coordinate a lot of people and of course, any of those people can choose to stop sharing their location anytime.

How does it confront against the rivalry

Whatsapp Live Location sharing application is pretty similar to Telegram, while Facebook Messenger service lets you choose locations with users in real time, but only for one hour at a time. Apple’s iMessage lets you share your location with users for an hour, until the end of the day or indefinitely.

Google Maps the most likable app to be using when driving out to meet someone in an unknown address – added real-time location sharing features earlier this year. Google Maps users can share their location with others for anywhere between 1 hour and ‘permanently’, though Maps uses links to share your location, which can then be shared further with others without your knowledge, raising privacy concerns.

Influence on battery life?

As per the Whatsapp management, there are few special techniques to help conserve your battery when sharing live location. So it takes into account a number of different factors such as,

  •  How long you’ve been sharing your live location, whether someone on the other end who you are sharing with is actually looking at the map, your current battery level.
  •  How often to get a location update from your phone because by being intelligent about that we can help conserve some battery,”

Caution….

Its surely an advanced move towards technology but many of us may think that it interrupts our PRIVACY, but I think if you see the positive outlook of this feature then you’ll like it rather by feeling it as an interruptive way in your private life.

The location is secured in the same way as other WhatsApp messages it’s end to end encrypted, and the only persons able to see your location are the ones you have opted to share your live location with. As the location is an intimate piece of information, so the option to ‘stop sharing’ is prominently displayed.

There is always a good and bad effect in every aspect of the good invention. So in future, more and more people will use this feature but be one of the usages of it in the right way nor for the intent of any ill act or violence in society.

Share it with your closed ones so that they could aware of your present status or when you want to let your loved ones know that you are safe.

How to link Aadhaar with Mobile without visiting stores or retailer?

Earlier to link Aadhaar with your Mobile number, you have to visit the stores or retailer. This seems to be cumbersome for few who are old age, unhealthy or for few who are busy. Hence, to help such people and to enhance the process to next level, now Government introduced the process through which, you can link Aadhaar with Mobile without visiting stores or retailer.

Aadhaar Linking to Mobile Phones online

Three ways to link Aadhaar with Mobile without visiting stores or retailer

Our government has introduced three new methods, including through one-time password (OTP), to ease the process of linking the 12-digit Aadhaar identity number with individual mobile numbers. As per the Supreme Court’s order regarding linking of Aadhaar card with the mobile number and re-verification process of mobile users, the Department of Telecommunications introduced three new rules – through one-time password (OTP), App based and the interactive voice response (IVRS) facility, to link the Aadhaar with the mobile number.

Actually, its an effort taken by the Government for improving comfort by depleting the time and energy spent by the consumers for processing the service. The deadline for linking Aadhaar to various government schemes would be extended till March 31, 2018.

As per the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) though it will take a little time to implement the directions still they are working nearly with the Government to improve and enhance the convenience of their consumers for undertaking Aadhaar based e-KYC linking with the mobile number.

Communication Minister for State Manoj Sinha said “The Aadhaar number system was designed to allow all residents of the country access to critical government services and important information that they may need from time to time. Mobile penetration is increasing rapidly in the country and the subscribers need to be provided with the ease of linking of the Aadhaar number with the mobile number.”

How is it helpful?

In our busy schedule of life, we often ignore our responsibilities towards our nation as a citizen and that’s the reason our Government has made it easier to follow this whole process when the subscribers don’t require to visit any telecom service providers’ stores for linking the Aadhaar with their mobile number.

Also, the Department of Telecommunication has recommended the telecom companies to complete the verification process at subscribers’ doorstep so that it could be easier for Senior citizens and physically challenged peoples along with chronic illness.

DoT has asked the telecom companies to provide an online mechanism for people to request such service and based on availability schedule the visit and complete the procedure.

The privacy cautions by DoT

  • In regard to the consumers, privacy concerns the Department of Telecommunication declared that the Subscribers can verify or re-verify their mobile numbers from anywhere in the country irrespective of which service area their mobile connection belongs to,”
  • Also, it has strictly instructed to the telecom service provider’s agent that they shouldn’t access to the subscribers’ e-KYC data and only the name and address of the subscribers should be visible.
  • DoT had given instructions to the telecom service providers to provide iris or fingerprint-based authentication of Aadhaar and the telecom service providers must deploy iris readers for this purpose within a reasonable geographical area.
  • The Supreme Court had directed the Central government last year in February 2016, to re-verify the phone numbers of all mobile phone users in the country within a year. By following that order, the DoT had asked the telecom operators to verify all phone numbers through the Aadhar eKYC process.

Protest against this process

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee refused to link her mobile number with Aadhaar. She said: “We will not link mobile with Aadhaar. If we do not have a mobile connection for that, so be it. I challenge that I will not provide my Aadhaar number even if my connection is stopped. I don’t care.” The Chief Minister said linking of Aadhaar with the mobile number was a breach of the right to privacy and the government was trying to intrude into people’s personal life and curb their freedom. “This means even a private conversation between a husband and a wife is going to be tapped,” she said.

My perspective……

The process has raised some contradiction about the security concerns among people and it’s quite obvious. Peoples feels quite insecure about this procedure because many times it has been found that we are not ready to share our personal mobile number with our peers then how could it be possible to share our confidential number with the Governmental informative data.

Aadhaar card is our Governmental identity and the mobile number is our confidential telecommunication so by linking the both now it’s being easier for the Government to fetch out our confidential speech with our closed ones.

Although neither I’m judgemental nor biased about this whole procedure because our Government had forward with many such steps for the betterment of our Nation and to stop the corruption like to act on Demoneytisation then GST which may be seemed a hurdle for the timing but its really a great relieved for forever crime and corruption.

So I hope maybe tomorrow this Aadhaar card linking with our mobile number may end up much such hidden corruption which till date suppress under the crime world.

How to delete and revoke whatsapp messages you sent by mistake?

Uuuffff…. Galti Se Mistake Dear! Now you no more need to use this word!

Finally, we get relieved from the stress of texting wrong messages to someone or to a wrong person by our silly mistake at Whatsapp.

delete and revoke whatsapp messages you sent by mistake

Yes…Now you are stressfree from texting the wrong message by your silly mistake to someone because you have the option now to delete that wrong sent message to your closed one. We all know that sinking feeling when you accidentally send a screenshot of a conversation, a b*tchy comment about a friend, or ‘cheeky’ selfie to the wrong person on Whatsapp. WhatsApp is adding the ability to delete and revoke messages after you’ve sent them.

Oh the shame, the guilt, the horror!

Several times its happened with us that we text something to the recipient which we feel it may spoil our relationship with that particular person and then again we ask apology from that person for that sent message. Well, fortunately, the brainiacs over at Whatsapp have come to our technological disaster rescue and revolutionized the way we interact on the app forever.

How its act?

WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature that allows users to delete text messages sent out erroneously to the wrong recipient or chat group. This is particularly useful if you sent a message to the wrong chat or if the message you sent contains a mistake.

“Deleting messages for everyone allows you to delete specific messages you have sent to either a group or an individual chat. This is particularly useful if you sent a message to the wrong chat or if the message you sent contains a mistake” read a note from the messaging provider.

Here’s how you go about it:

  • Open WhatsApp and go to the chat containing the message you wish to delete.
  • Tap and hold the message. Optionally, tap more messages to delete multiple messages at once.
  • Tap Delete at the top of the screen > Delete for everyone.

The time limit for doing the act…

As handy as this feature is, there are some limitations that are worth bearing in mind such as the time limit. A sender can only delete messages for everyone within seven minutes of sending. Once seven minutes have lapsed, there is no way to delete messages “for everyone”. Messages may only be deleted within seven minutes of being sent. After that, they’re as permanent as any message sent by WhatsApp. It’s a slightly annoying limitation, but then again, we imagine most people will have read the message within seven minutes, so the time limit likely won’t affect too many users.

Why it matters to You?

WhatsApp has more than one billion active monthly users worldwide.

Ever sent a message you instantly regretted? At least one major messaging app is letting you do something about it. Everyone’s been there. Maybe you’re carrying on multiple conversations at the same time, or perhaps you sent something while in a fit of anger. Either way, everyone has sent messages that they wish they could take back, and now WhatsApp users have a way of doing just that.

Conditions for the service…

This feature will only work if both parties have the latest version of WhatsApp installed for iPhone, Windows Phone or Android. If your contacts are slow with updates, then this feature won’t work for you, and you won’t receive any warning that the deletion request was unsuccessful.

The final caveat regarding this feature is that it might not be available for everyone just yet. WABetainfo noted that WhatsApp was being very slow in rolling out this feature. If it hasn’t already been activated, you can try reinstalling the app, but there’s no guarantee that the new feature will be functional. In that case, your only option is to wait, but we imagine WhatsApp will begin speeding up the process.

So, now get ready to reinstall the most friendly usable chatting app of our daily life naming Whatsapp!

Amazon Key – Receive your Amazon package even in your absence

Amazon gifting Santa to their customers! Ops! Not for a day or a week but for forever…….Yes, Amazon brings Santa for us!

In our busy schedule lifestyle, we all now prefer to buy things from online which gives us the freedom of choosing the items as per our wishes by sitting in our home or at our office or while walking in the street and place order by putting the pin code of our residing area. But in this whole process till date, we faced a problem and that is our absence in our residing area for taking the parcel from the delivery person of the particular company.

Now just think for a second that you are as usual busy in your schedule without bothering about to receive your ordered parcel and ‘Santa Claus’ came to your residence and keep silently your parcel in your drawing room without giving you the headache of your strict presence in your home for receiving that ordered package then how will you react to that circumstance after return at home?

Yes, the first time something unusual happening which makes you mesmerized about the home delivery system of packages by Amazon but definitely not by Santa instead by their driver or delivery person.

Several times, it may happen that we are out of home, and the delivery guy is about to reach our home for package delivery and when they arrive at our home and found that the door has been locked and none is being present over their then those delivery guy at anyhow try to contact us either by calling or sending SMS to our mobile number so that they could hand over the package to us within the said time and after get connecting the call with them when we replied them that we are at the office or at the outing then those delivery guys have to return with the package at their company by receiving only another confirm date of the presence of ours so that they could hand over the parcel to us.

Now in these whole long procedure, both the donor and receiver have been undergone with the trouble because not only the company guys facing the trouble but including the customers also who possess the headache of receiving their parcel by making themselves present in the home by keeping aside their other vital tasks.

Amazon key will deliver your package even in your absence at home…………..

Amazon Key

Amazon, world’s largest e-commerce portal, and the company which introduced drone-based deliveries of packages, a service that allows a driver not only to drop a package off at your doorstep but also to go inside your home — even when you are not there — to make a delivery, has now introduced Amazon Key, which aims to revolutionize the delivery mechanism.

With Amazon Key, you can allow delivery guys inside your home, even if there is no one present at your home!

Amazon completes 1st drone delivery

Cities go all out in bid for new Amazon headquarters

On a first glance, this may seem blasphemous to say the least, but if we understand how it works, and it’s implications for other services, then we will find that the concept is wonderful.

Even magical to some extent.

Now, the only question is.. Will netizens and online shoppers accept this new system?

Cost of Amazon Key: The Mesmerised Concept Of Delivery

The service is called Amazon Key and launches November 8 for Prime members. So, you can allow the delivery personnel to enter your home, and deliver the package. And yes, it is safe as well. Amazon Key contains Amazon Key In-Home Kit, which costs $249.99 or Rs 16,000/- and solves all your problem related to deliveries.

The in-home delivery service will come at no additional cost for the 85 million Amazon Prime subscribers, after they purchase the Amazon Key In-Home Kit, starting at $249.99, which includes the new Amazon Cloud Cam and a compatible smart lock. The service can give people “peace of mind” in knowing that their orders “are waiting for them when they walk through their doors.”

How its work?

  •  Amazon Key works by alerting customers by phone when a driver arrives at their home and scans their package. That triggers a signal to the Amazon Cloud that verifies the driver, and then the Amazon Cloud unlocks a smart lock on the front door.
  • Amazon will authorize the delivery and will turn on the camera which will be installed in your home.
  •  The delivery guy will now open your home because Amazon has authorized it.
  • Meanwhile, a camera inside the home begins recording, and customers can watch the delivery live or watch the video later and get confirmation of the delivery. When the delivery guy leaves, the door is locked again. Refer this video also to know more about how it works.

Is it safe to allow some stranger in our home during our absence?

Observers and analysts have slammed Amazon for introducing this ‘weird’ delivery mechanism, as they claim it can endanger the whole house, and things can get stolen.,

“But we’re opening a whole can of worms by allowing a human inside our homes when we aren’t there: What if he slips and falls? What if Amazon says the package was delivered but it wasn’t? What if the dog gets out?”

For all these queries Amazon focused on many aspects like,

  • “Amazon is really focused on safety and security for all of our customers across the board,” he said. “These drivers are the same drivers that you know and trust to deliver your Amazon packages today. They’re background checked, and they are approved to deliver for Amazon.”
  • Larsen acknowledged the cybersecurity concerns some customers may raise when using technology that controls access into their home, saying “all of the devices are encrypted.”
  • “The data traveling between the devices and the Amazon Cloud is encrypted,” he said, adding that Amazon has an “over-the-air update system so we can update all of the devices if we need to.”
  • Amazon Key users have the option to turn off the smart lock whenever they choose, requiring a physical key for entry.
  • In addition to delivery services, people can use Amazon Key to remotely allow friends or family members to enter their homes without a key. Amazon announced that it hopes to use the new technology to let service providers, such as housekeepers and dog walkers, have access to homes.

Norms for the delivery driver

Amazon says the delivery driver will not be given an access code or key. The service isn’t just for deliveries. Amazon says you can also use it to let family and friends into your house when you’re not home. And it will work for certain services like home cleaners, pet sitters, and dog walkers.

It’s not the first major retailer to experiment with remote delivery access.

Last month, Walmart announced that it was testing a service that allows a delivery driver from the startup delivery into your home, mostly for groceries. It will even give the delivery person access to your refrigerator. In the Walmart service, the driver gets a one-time passcode for a smart lock, and you can watch the delivery on security cameras.

Conditions for Amazon Key

Now, this concept is so cool, that it can be easily implemented for other service providers as well, such as home cleaners, maids, pet sitters and more. Amazon Home Services, the division where service providers enlist their services would be soon combined with Amazon Key. On the other hand, investors have given this new concept a green signal and explain that this is as safe as hiring Uber for a cab or Airbnb for a room.

The crucial aspect here is the authorization, which Amazon provides, and the camera which allows you to witness the whole process.

Only few cities in US are right now eligible for this new Amazon Key powered deliveries right now.

So don’t lose hope friends, that you couldn’t explore this new amazing facility right now but hopefully soon we all get this magical Amazon key for our daily online usage of shopping.
